Well, Abir opened after remodeling over a month ago... I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned it here.
I don't like it... all of the laid-back charm is gone, replaced by a sanitized Starbucks feel. I'm really annoyed that the bulletin board is gone - no more local flyers. And the magazine store is gone - replaced by some upscale sake shop.
Blah. Anyone else have an opinion?

Re: "Newly" Remodeled
Sun, December 23, 2007 - 8:43 PMWell, me and the missus stopped there on Saturday to pick up sandwiches. I've always enjoyed their long bagette sandwiches before.
Never again. Instead of the simple sandwich checklist on a piece of paper, they've got some new computer system that they don't understand. We ended up with the wrong meat, the wrong cheese, and no mustard. And the sandwiches cost more now, too. Probably passing the cost of renovations on to the consumer.
We won't be going back there for sandwiches again.
